            zveme Vás na mimořádný seminář s přednáškou prof. Douga Munoze a Isabell Pitigoi z Queens 
            Kanada, který se bude konat ve středu 18. 6. 2025 u nás na klinice od 15:00 hod.


            Profesor Doug Munoz je přední světový odborník v oblasti fyziologie očních pohybů a jejich
            porozumění patofyziologie neurologických a psychiatrických onemocnění.


            Název:

            Blinking and winking are cognitively-linked behaviours which differ by sex, age, and acros
            groups.


            Abstrakt:
            Spontaneous blinking has been linked to higher-level mechanisms such as attention, cogniti
            and social communication, as it integrates both bottom-up sensory signals and top-down con

            goals to prioritize efficient information gathering. Here, we will discuss how blink behav
            timed strategically during cognitive tasks in order to maximize performance and minimize t
            relevantvisual input. Our data from 750 healthy individuals (aged 5-95 years) has revealed

            sex and age differences in this process. We have also compared these blink responses to va
            cohorts to understand disease-related alterations in relevant circuitry. Finally, we will 
            data comparing blinking with winking, a behaviour that is rarely studied, which we believe

            a unique oculomotorprogram involving high-level cortical mechanisms.
